Description..
GlowRings are the brand name
of a line of keyring 'fobs' containing Trasers . Trasers
are laser sealed borosillicate glass vials which are
internally coated with phosphor injected with gaseous
tritium which reacts with the phosphor to create a
cold energy which produces a low level light source
with no filaments or heat dissipation and no risk
of fire or explosion.
The vials are unaffected by water, oil and most corrosive
materials and require no external power source or
exposure to light, remaining fail-safe and maintenance
free with a half-life in excess of 10 years. Products
made from this technology include military / dive
watches, fire-arm gunsites, markers and even some
low level illumination signage and military or aviation
map lighting. They are the semi-permanent answer to
glow in the dark chemicals that depend on a charge
of light to give them chemilluminescent properties.
GlowRings will glow effectively for up to 10 years
from their date of manufacture with no 'charging'
requirement. This makes them especially useful in
situations where there may not be another source of
illumination for 'charging' or when applications call
for a fail safe solution to low level 'marking'.
NOTE: The 'Classic' V2 GlowRing and X2
styles as well as the GlowDiscs, have been discontinued
for 2005. The new style Nite GlowRing (Version 4)
in three colors- Green (not shown) Pink & Ice
Blue , is the current replacement.

Ease of Use
Excellent . Requires very little learning
if any. Intuitive functional model. No cognitive overhead
. We attached glow rings to keychains,neck lanyards
and small pocket flashlights and found them very practical
for quickly locating these host objects in dark or
dimly lit rooms and tents. The keychain and pocket
flashlight sporting a green and yellow GlowRing respectively,
were very quick to spot in a capacious woman's purse
as well as in a tactical 'go-bag' stuffed with a collection
of objects. Findability was enhanced by a conscious
effort to keep the GlowRings topmost in a kit and
not buried underneath other objects.

Task performance optimization
Excellent . Accomplishes the task of making
an otherwise impossible to see and find object visible
and findable.Operation simply involves attaching a
GlowRing to a host object using the included split
ring. We also introduced a swivel to mitigate against
possible entanglement when GlowRings interacted with
other objects, especially in situations of severe
physical manipulation. The design of the Nite GlowRing
encapsulations make the enclosed vials extremely easy
to see from all angles and especially at farther distances.Tested
as highly noticeable at 20' for Green, 18' for Pink
and 15' For Ice Blue

Long term and stress tests have been performed.
First impressions are that in normal use they are
durable. Based on continuous everyday use for 4 months
we have provisionally given product an amended durability

such as the GlowRings are considered 'frivolous'.
